In February 2014, the FDA officially announced the proposal to update the nutrition facts label supplement labels and serving size information.

On June 26th, 2014, the FDA held a public meeting to discuss the proposed rules on food labeling for the nutrition label and serving size information.

We are currently waiting for the final ruling to come out.

From that time of the final rule, the FDA has proposed 6 months for the industry to prepare for the changes and another 2 years from that date for the food manufacturing industry to comply.

The FDA is currently reviewing the public’s comments before making a final ruling. At this time, no date has been set for the final rule to be posted.
